1. Description of Our Community
Most areas of the Muzha Park are located on a hillside. Originally a part of the 'Grass and Reed Residence” of the late president Chiang Kai-Shek, Tsuei Lake in the park was once known as the ' Little Cihu ' and possesses significant historical and cultural value. The Park Department Office has worked with Taipei Wenshan Community College, Wilderness Conservation Association, Friends of Da’an Forest Park Foundation, and other organizations for a long time to create lake habitats in the Muzha Park. Wenshan Community College, in particular, has mobilized volunteers to remove lake sediments, establish ecological shelters, construct micro-habitats, and cultivate aquatic plants since 2015. From 2015 to 2016, 13 large-scale habitat creation actions were carried out to 'restore the beauty of Tsuei Lake ', and with the efforts of more than 600 volunteers, we can now enjoy the delightful views of Tsuei Lake and its ecological diversity. In the future, it is hoped that more NGOs can participate, and that more local residents can recognize the importance of ecological conservation, thus making the park ecologically sustainable.
2. Summary of Our Project
When I was in the first grade, we had a field trip to our neighborhood park ~~ Muzha Park. a classmate who lives nearby the park often said “What a boring place! There are just many weeds, bugs, and mosquitos at Muzha park.” On the other hand, some classmates claim excitedly “it is a fun place to go, many things to learn and good to visit.” Before our field trip, the teacher introduces Muzha Park by showing us many pictures and videos, to learn about the grandpa tree and firefly restoration. Luckily, through the field trip, we learned the history of Tsui Lake from neighborhoods and volunteers from WenShan Community College. They guide us to explore more and have different views of Tsui Lake. In April and May, there are many people come to enjoy firefly but many of them don’t even know how much effort has been put in, not only for firefly but also for the variety of plants and creatures to have friendly ecological environment.
Through this firefly project, we sincerely hope to have a better understanding of their effort for the ecosystem. Discuss how to influence our surroundings to protect and create a better living environment from a young age. Moreover, as the youngsters how can we serve the good neighborhood park, Tsuei Lake, and pursue ecological conservation.

Our Internet environment: At school, we use computer classrooms with fiber optics and network cables. We also use wireless networks, and fiber optic networks externally. Overall, the network speed is sufficient.
4. Problems We Had To Overcome
Difficulties we encountered and overcome: 1.Time Conflict: Our team members are selected from each class of the second grade. The class and activity time are not at the same time, so the time for us to meet up for group discussion is very limited. 2.Preparation for the interview : We are second-grader, we took “International information” course and have interviewed and some related activities at the first grade, but , this project is still quite challenging for us. 3. Data sorting and research: This project is about Muzha Park, which is very close to our school, but it took a lot of time for us to find information through field trips and to complete our project.
5. Our Project Sound Bite
Our original impression of Tsuei Lake was that there were just 'fireflies', but through this special case study, we learned that it took so much time and manpower to make Tsuei Lake so beautiful and become a place suitable for fireflies.When we visit Tsuei Lake, we conduct field activities and collaborate with volunteers, so that we can experience firsthand the hard work of volunteers.
6. How did your activities and research for this CyberFair Project support standards, required coursework and curriculum standards?
From this special research course, we have learned about the entire process of drafting, implementing, and completing a research plan. Knowledge of various disciplines have also been integrated together. Language Skills: During the activities of this special research, we designed surveys, collected information and data, and listened to interview materials, which improved our ability to listen, write, and communicate in actual interviews. Mathematics : Through the questionnaire survey, we conducted data analysis and used spreadsheet software to visualize the results. Social Studies: This research project helped increase recognition of the people who silently guard Tsuei Lake, and encouraged students to pay attention, take action and be active participants. The interview process helped students learn about the hard work and effort required for rehabilitation and restoration. Arts and Humanities During the course of the special research, we used image processing technology to edit and modify the photos we took and applied them to our web pages. In the process of making web pages, the editing of images combined with photography, typesetting and other techniques helped create visual appeal. Nature and Technology This research topic is related to ecological issues. Through actual field experience, we better understand the importance of the environment. We use the Internet to search for relevant information, use digital cameras to record our activities, and use computer software to organize the data into a website. Integrated Activity After this research, we learned how to express our own opinions. The interview process taught us how to be more confident, how to clearly express our ideas, and the importance of cooperation and teamwork. Moreover, we learned how to think for ourselves and build up our concepts of environmental conservation.
